With the owner coming down the first week of August I thought I had better show some good progress. With the plating done and parts arriving daily there are a lot of sub assemblies I can get ready for reassembly once the car is painted. A decision on paint will be done the first week of August and then we can get moving on that front.

I picked up plating today before stopping to see Rob’s Dino being painted. I loaded everything up and headed to famous Phillipi’s for lunch. As I was sitting there an image came into my mind of a GOLD door catch!!!. YES they accidentally mixed 2 bins of sorted parts and plated them all gold. Luckily I was a few miles away and tried to resort what I could from memory and they redid a batch for me in 30 minutes and I was on my way. I may be making another trip as I don’t think I caught every nut and bolt!

The grill was pretty mangled due to some sort of shunt on the front nose. Back in shape and getting ready to paint the slats.

I received the column switched back today after getting rebuilt.  The plastic end pieces always crack after 40 years of sun and use.  The ends are recast, the switches repaired and other upgrades so it can live on for another 40 years.

With the Dino back with me and epoxy primed the next step is to get it to the metal stage. A few areas have manifested themselves after the media blast and will be cut out, replaced with new metal. A very good car overall with minimal problem areas.

With the car media blasted all it’s warts and imperfections are there to see.  Overall in good shape, the right sill will need to be replaced.
