Beautiful 206 at my shop. Dino blu Mettallizzato, which you don’t see many this color. I believe there were 10 206 dinos in this color. Interesting enough is that my 206 is this same spec. In for correct exhaust, correct Irvin seat belts, correct fuel cap, correct shift knob, correct ignition wires, engine lettering and dash mousehair.
Dino 246 GT 05922 headed my way
I’m always looking for Dinos everyday. Currently the supply is very low, although I came across this one at collectingcars.com. The Dino is in Belgium, original color matching numbers 2 owner car. I set my limit and bid on the car and to my surprise I won the auction at 296 Euros! The car is now headed to the port in Rotterdam and will be delivered to the Houston, Texas port will I will pick it up. Always exciting to get another Dino!!
Ready for body and paint
Ready to go to body and paint. I decided to go with original specs of Blu Scuro with tan interior and rust carpeting. The only change is daytona seats. Will be done by the end of the year. I’ll probably go with campagnolo wheels as I love the look of non flared cars with the little wider wheels!! The motor block, heads, crank, etc are at the machinist. All the powdercoating is done and all the hardware is at the plater for yellow cad, clear cad and black oxide. Will be all done by the end of the year or before.

Disassembly Finished.
Off to Paint and body
It’s been 4 months since I received the Dino at the shop. Yesterday I loaded it on the trailer for a 45 minute drive to Color House of Texas for paint and body. I knew TJ the owner of Color House of Texas when I had my shop in Escondido, California. TJ worked up the street at Best of Show and recently relocated to Texas and opened his own paint shop. His work is top quality and the Dino will be painted with Glasurit in its original Rosso Dino color. I expect to get it back in about 3 months when I’ll be ready for reassembly. Most of the parts and interior are done. I’m setting up an area for my upholstery guy who will come out when I’m ready to sew and install the carpeting, headliner etc. The carpet, headliner and dask material came from Henk at HVL in the Netherlands. The motor is dissembled and in progress.

New Addition Dino 206 #0184
The dino is my favorite cars in all their varieties. The 206 probably is my favorite and still kick myself for the one I restored and sold. I wanted to get another one but the prices are way up there. I bid on the Verde Scuro car at the Gooding auction in the UK but went way above what I was willing to pay. Yesterday morning I got a email from a guy who was considering restoring his 206. After talking with him he figured it was best to sell. We made a deal and I picked it up 24 hours later!!! The best thing about this car was its original configuration. It was Dino Blu Mettallizzato with beige interior with YELLOW CLOTH INSERTS!!!!!!!! The car is very low mileage with 29,000KM about 14,000 miles. All the impossible items to get are there, ash tray, shift knob, seat belts, fuel cap and wipers. I need wood steering wheels, books and tools. The car has wrong tires, wrong exhaust, wrong interior materials, clock, amp guage and parts in the engine compartment are gloss black. Also horsie on back and ferrari logo. The Dino spent its entire life in Venezuela except for the last 3 years where it’s been in the current owners den!! There is an interesting story about the original owner and why it left Venezuela I will be the third registered owner and first in USA. I won’t be starting restoration anytime soon as my plate is full so I’ll get some driving in. If anyone can help with steering wheel, books and tools let me know. Thanks in
