Back from the paint shop
My second RSR project just got back from the paint shop. My friend Freeman Thomas did the design to mimic the 917 “Hippie” race car. We started reassembly today. The motor will be like the first one I did with a Rothsport 3.5 motor. It looks totally MFI but it is stealth EFI, by looking at it you would never know.
First coat of paint on the 206sp
The first coat of paint was put on the 206sp.
Final sanding stages!
The car is in it’s final sanding stage and color this week!!!
Custom shifters
I wanted an authentic type gearshift, so I got my hand on a real one and had my machinist reproduce one. Of course it’s about the same price to make one versus four. I now have four awesome looking shift mechanisms!
Primer and body work
The cars are coming along. One has been primed and ready to paint and another is getting final sanding.
Some updates on 2 and 3
#2 is now ready for one more light blast and epoxy primer. It then goes to speedworks in Santee for paint. Brad had been doing all my Ferrari Dinos for years so this will be a change of pace. #3 is very close to having all the metal work also
To the paint shop
Tomorrow it goes on the trailer to the paint shop. We put some temporary lettering on the back so no one would get confused what it is..
