I cleaned the shop today and put the 73 GT on the lift. #4946 started out in it’s Dino life as a yellow, chairs and flares USA model coupe. Only 5 Flares and Chairs coupes were made for the USA. It originally sold June 2, 1973 at Hollywood Sports Cars to Thomas Brockmiller of Rolling Hills, Ca. The original price was $16,999.90 including tax and license. I bought it a couple of years ago where it was living in Las Vegas. I started taking a few parts off today with really no set plan on taking it apart. Pretty much on what I feel like doing for the day. Today I concentrated on TAV 106, plus tires off and battery out. If anybody needs specific pictures of anything, let me know. The journey begins.

07836 Wins Best Dino!
After 2 years our hard work paid off!!
Totally Amazing!!!!
After 2 long years my son Jeff and myself with no previous car experience totally took apart and restored every part on this car better than new. It was an amazing journey as we learned so much and a lot of it the hard way. It is sort of sad finishing as we had a great time celebrating our small victories everyday and learning from our mistakes. Today Jeff got the honors of the first drive. The most amazing part was that it actually started and almost everything worked. Jeff first drove around our building all seemed good so we branched out to around the block and then a couple of miles. A few things to sort out and we will be ready for our first show at Bella Italia. I would highly recommend spending time with your teenage son doing something productive together.
First Drive Tomorrow
We wrapped up basically everything and hope to have the first drive tomorrow!
Doors and Final Details
The last of the parts are being installed and the first drive is not far off!
Installing Engine
Engine Test on Engine Stand
The engine was put on a test stand where it was run for 6 heat cycles. The bolts were retorqued and the valves adjusted. It is now ready to go into the Dino.
