Rob’s car is basically done!! I still need to get the AC charged, and thats about it. I’ve taken it out for several test drives and then come back and dial everything in. It’s kind of sad to finish this one up as I’ve had it for 10 months and have touched every nut and bolt in the process of bringing this back to life in it’s original Dino Blue Metallizzato, my favorite color.
Interior
Chairs and Flares is moving along with carpet, trim and seats now installed. It’s looking really good!!! The Daytona seats came standard with the “Flares and Chairs”option from the factory. They made very few cars with this option which included flared fenders, wider Campagnolo wheels and leather “Daytona Seats”. These cars now command a $100,000 premium over a regular model.
The Owners First Drive!
With the Dino now 95% complete, the owner flew out from New York to check out his new baby. He loved it and got to take it for a spin as well as text photos to his Dad who had a Dino 40 years ago. Like Father like Son!!
Brakes and Suspension
All the wiring is in and everything hooked up that can be done now. With the wiring done and the hydraulics I worked on suspension today getting everything assembled on the car including the brakes. Always nice when it can come off the lift if necessary. Tomorrow starts interior.
Media Blast
Almost Done!
Now that the motor is in and running I’ve loaded it for a last trip to Steve K for a final color sand, buff and alignment trunk, engine lid, front bonnet and doors. I pick it up next thursday for a few more jobs to do on the interior and a few electrical glitches then the owner flies out from New York to drive it on Monday, the pressure is on!!
Metal Work Done on to Surfacing and Paint
