The Door Locks That Wouldn’t……….
Putting doors together today and as usual eating up a lot of time. Never assume the locks work before installing them! I had put the key in several times and all seemed fine until I installed them and found the cylinder didn’t turn on either one. Out they came and a trip to the locksmith, luckily the key just needed trimmed a bit so it would go into the lock a few thousands more. After the trim, and all of $10 they worked fine and I reinstalled them for the second time. Obviously the previous owner could not lock his car
Interior Work
All interior work today with the Dino vinyl sills going in, the carpeting getting fit and ready for binding and the same with the trunk. All the interior work that needs glued in will be finished tomorrow and Saturday. I did manage to get the electric motors in for the windows and running smoothly. My plan is to finish up the interior and doors and some details, put the suspension on and then the engine can go in.
Doors
It doesn’t seem much was accomplished today, but then again I started the doors. For some reason a very time consuming job.
The Beat Goes On
More and more this is beginning to look like a car again. Much progress has been made as reassembly continues.
Lot of Bits and Pieces
Reassembly is moving along with all the hundreds of items that must be reinstalled on the car.
Paint
With the color approved the painting has started in ernest!
First Interior Parts
More wiring today, very time consuming when replacing a lot of the connectors and the vinyl sheathing. Ralph from Auto’s International came over today and installed the Dino vinyl around the back windscreen as I’m ready for glass in a day or two. The front is pretty much finished with the grill and bumpers now on.
