Fiberglass
Pretty much down to the last of the fiberglass. The 206 is much more difficult than the 246 to get all the various fiberglass pieces out.
It’s In Primer!
A big step as it’s now in primer!. It’s a lot or work to get it to this point, and now we are awaiting Rob’s color choice. Steve K and Beau did a great job.
Primer Tomorrow
Today I went to LA to my favorite plater and I made a stop at AC Global MFG. in Southgate, Ca. As Rob’s car needed a new AC condenser I thought I would go to source and see how they are made. I love old working factories with the sounds and the old machines. Davis Cabrera the owner who took over for his Dad gave me a tour. Then stopped at Steve’s to see the progress on the body. It was looking really good with even gaps all around and ready for primer tomorrow!!. Come on Rob, we need that color choice.
Suspension Removed
Not much left to take off, as all the suspension, brakes etc were removed today along with the steering rack.. Many differenced between a 206 and 246. The fiberglass looks much more difficult to remove, I guess I’ll find out soon! Removing the suspension is kind of a milestone as it will need to go on a rotisserie or cart.
Yellow???
Work is moving on all fronts. The parts are getting refurbished, the dash is now complete in (Henks) material which is the one I like the best and the body work is moving along. Rumors are that it might go yellow.
Stripping of 00136 Continues
Front Suspension
I finished the front suspension today with freshly powder coated A arms, all the hardware replated and all new bushings.
