The metal work is in full swing right now, repairing old damage and cutting out any rust.
Ceramic Coating
While the metal work progresses, work continues ob refurbishing parts. The Ansa exhaust and headers were ceramic coated and also more chrome, polish and powder coating.
Metal Work
The first metal work was started as there was some damage to the tubes that run under the tub where the clutch cable, hydraulic line and starter cable run through. It was repaired very poorly whomever did the repairs years ago. These are the things you find when you strip a car and the only way a restoration can really be done properly. The car is now with Steve K. for metal. surfacing and paint.
Moving Day
The Dino left the blaster today with a fresh coat of self etching primer and delivered to Steve K. to begin the resurfacing job. In the meantime the motor is being rebuilt at Cavallo Motorsports by a Ferrari Factory trained engine guy.
Dash and Seats
Progress on the interior. Dash is in recovered in the proper mouse hair and Daytona seat.
Car Cancer
Rob’s GTS FINALLY was finished as far as the media blasting goes and now awaits a coat of self etching primer before I transport it to Steve Kouracos on Monday. The really nice thing about a clean canvas to work from is that all the cancer spots are exposed and will be dealt with properly with cutting it out and replacing the metal. Without doing this that cancer would of just been hidden under another layer of paint. This is one where the benefits out weigh the cost.
North Hollywood Speedometer
For years I have sent my Dino gauges to North Hollywood Speedometer for cleaning and repair. Today instead of sending I hand delivered them to get a look at a legendary shop that has been in the same place sine 1963. The shop was amazing and crammed full of gauges waiting for repair and restoration. Restores from around the world send their gauges here.
Brake caliper rebuild
I send the calipers out to be replated (cad yellow) as per factory and replace all the hardware.. Rebuild kits include all new rubber seals, o rings etc, The fronts are pretty straight forward. The rears are a PITA as the emergency brake is internal in the rear calipers as you can see by the abundance of parts.
