Plated Parts
I picked up plating today before stopping to see Rob’s Dino being painted. I loaded everything up and headed to famous Phillipi’s for lunch. As I was sitting there an image came into my mind of a GOLD door catch!!!. YES they accidentally mixed 2 bins of sorted parts and plated them all gold. Luckily I was a few miles away and tried to resort what I could from memory and they redid a batch for me in 30 minutes and I was on my way. I may be making another trip as I don’t think I caught every nut and bolt!
The Grill
The grill was pretty mangled due to some sort of shunt on the front nose. Back in shape and getting ready to paint the slats.
A Visit by David’s 206 GT
A visit today for wheel upgrading, plating the hubs and hardware. The column switch also needs some looking after and I’m awaiting for David to bring down a 206 exhaust that was made to original specs. Should be here for a week or so. What a great color on a 206!!
Column Switches
I received the column switched back today after getting rebuilt. The plastic end pieces always crack after 40 years of sun and use. The ends are recast, the switches repaired and other upgrades so it can live on for another 40 years.
Paint Today!!
Paint today!!! I went up to Steve K’s today to watch the paint process, what a great color!. Watching the clear going on bring the color to life. About 1 1/2 gallons of clear is used. It will be back in my hands a week from tomorrow to begin assembly which I’m guessing will take 5-6 weeks. It will be visiting cars and coffee a week from tomorrow on its way to my shop.
