Taking apart the gearbox
I sort of have 3 major projects on the Dino going on. The carbs are apart and I’m awaiting on a few more parts to arrive then I’ll finish cleaning and put them back together. I have a few more parts for the engine that I’m also waiting for and then it’s basically ready to put together. Today I took apart the gearbox cleaned everything and am determining what parts to replace. My hands are full right now.
A couple imperfections discovered
Back from Italy, what a great trip. The work on the Dino is slowly progressing. I’m still getting the last parts together. I discovered a small imperfection on one of the camshafts, so I had to send that out. Then on closer examination of the pistons there was a small dent from the valve on one piston. Waiting for all new pistons to arrive. While waiting I decided to start on my favorite job, the carbs.
Back home!
Paint finished!
The Dino is coming home Saturday. The paint came out fantastic. All green also. This was done with Silkens water based system. Three stage paint job. Silver, then the blue then clear. I’m trying something new on the front. I’ll see how it looks later, The black was not carried up to the bottom vents. To me those are a work of art and the black really hides them. But I’ll have to see how it looks when all put together which may be awhile, my time has been way more limited lately an am leaving for Italy on Tuesday hopefully to start a new project!
