I haven’t put much up on the site lately, but work is progressing. The body is getting smoother every day and getting close to paint. The engine parts have all been cleaned, painted and all the new parts are in my possession now. I plan on reassembly of the engine after my trip to Italy in mid November. A few pictures of the progress.
Some more pictures to bring the progress to current. I have about 30 days to decide between azzuro and grigio ferro.
This car appeared to have 3 different paint jobs, yellow (original), red (repaint) and black. It had never been taken down to bare metal only bondoed over. The rust was in damaged areas that were never fixed correctly. Like they say, paint can hide a multitude of sins. This car is on it’s way to being better than new.
I’ve been a little busy lately, but work is progressing. I started sorting and cleaning engine parts and ordering various new parts. The body is moving along at a better pace then my work. All the metal work is done and the resurfacing has started.
One of the most beautiful Ferraris I’ve owned and the fastest!! Amazing F1 gearbox.
Some more metal work over the past few days.
The metal work is progressing, replacing any rusted areas with new metal. The metal work should be done this week then on to the body. I was in New Mexico this week collecting on a judgement. I got a Ferrari 275GTB/C. one of 12 alloy bodied competition models. Pristine condition with 12,000 original miles. Also a Porsche 917-30, P-51 airplane and an assortment of vintage motorcycles. I had Cavallo motorsports here in San Diego go to New Mexico to pick it up. All but the plane arrived last night.
